My path to dermatology began with a fascination for the intersection of science, artistry, and human connection.
Skin is our most visible organ — it tells the story of our health, our lifestyle, and often our confidence. During my medical training, I quickly realized that dermatology allowed me to combine meticulous medical science with visual precision and aesthetic sensibility. I was drawn to the complexity of the skin — how a single diagnosis could change someone’s life, and how restoring someone’s skin could restore their confidence. Equally important was the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients. In dermatology, you treat everything from skin cancer to acne, from medical conditions to aesthetic concerns.
You can literally change how someone feels when they look in the mirror. That blend of medicine, artistry, and patient impact ultimately led me to establish my dermatology practice in Santa Monica, where my team and I focus on both advanced medical dermatology and cutting-edge aesthetic treatments. Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started your career? One of the most meaningful experiences involved a young patient who came to me with severe cystic acne.
She had become incredibly withdrawn and avoided social situations because of her skin. We worked together over time using a combination of medical treatments, lasers, and a tailored skincare approach. Watching her transformation was remarkable — not just physically but emotionally. The most touching moment came months later when she returned for a follow-up visit and told me she had auditioned for a school play and gotten the lead role.
