Justified Studio proves enterprise identity can be bold and beautiful
The branding strategy for Indicium AI, developed by Justified Studio, emphasizes a bold and sophisticated enterprise identity that reflects technical expertise while maintaining clarity and trust. By utilizing a dynamic visual language, the Fractal Glass system, the brand positions itself as a transformative layer in data consultancy, effectively communicating its unique value proposition to both technical leaders and decision-makers.
The Brand Identity: When two large data consultancies merge to form a global AI specialist, the challenge extends well beyond visual cohesion. Indicium AI emerged from that merger with over 600 specialists and partnerships spanning AWS, Databricks, Anthropic and OpenAI. The London-based Justified Studio was tasked with creating a brand that could operate credibly at enterprise scale whilst expressing the technical sophistication that separates a production-focused consultancy from the crowded field of AI generalists. The studio’s response began with a conscious reframing of what enterprise identity could be.
Rather than viewing corporate positioning as a constraint requiring softening, they treated it as foundation. “We were very conscious that this would be an enterprise-level brand, and we did not see that as a limitation,” explains Dan Woodward, Senior Creative at Justified Studio. “The question became how far an identity rooted in clarity, discipline and trust could be pushed without losing its authority.” That question found its answer in the Fractal Glass system, a visual language built to represent Indicium AI’s core function: sitting between raw, complex data and human decision-making.
Glass became the central metaphor – not for distortion but for clarification. It refracts, focuses and reveals. The concept positions the consultancy as a transformation layer, making legible what would otherwise remain opaque. The technical execution distinguishes this from the glass effects that have become ubiquitous in digital design. Justified Studio built the system in WebGL, combining a fluid simulation backplate with physically accurate glass behaviour in the foreground. This approach created what Woodward describes as “a bespoke fractal distortion that behaves more like a living system than a static visual.
It is never fixed, always in motion and always responding, which reflects Indicium AI’s approach to data. Adaptive, dynamic and continuously evolving.” Practically, this meant the studio developed a toolkit rather than a single asset. The system could be animated, embedded natively on the website, and generate infinite variation without losing coherence. The underlying concept reinforces a specific brand idea: in a world full of noise, Indicium sees clear. The typographic strategy prioritised something that might sound unglamorous but reflects how seriously the merged organisation took execution.
Inter, open source and universally accessible, serves as the primary typeface. “Indicium AI represents the merger of two large organisations, so removing friction from the rollout was critical,” Woodward notes. “By choosing Inter, we ensured every employee could immediately use the brand without barriers.” Rather than relying on a highly characterful typeface to do expressive work, the studio focused on exceptional typesetting, hierarchy and documentation. This restraint allows the Fractal Glass system to carry the visual personality.
CoType Foundry’s Aeonik Fono provides the support, communicating technical focus without the practical limitations of a fully monospaced face. The identity deliberately sidesteps several conventions that have become default in AI and consultancy branding. Justified Studio avoided the tendency to soften corporate positioning with texture, friendly illustrations or artificial warmth. “One of the biggest clichés we wanted to avoid was the idea that corporate brands need to apologise for being corporate,” Woodward shares.
