Can you share with us the backstory about what brought you to your specific career path? It is a pleasure to join this interview series. I have always worked at the intersection of business and technology, helping companies seize the opportunities in new technologies.
Early in my career, I became fascinated by how organizations learn to thrive in changing market conditions. I have had the privilege of working with leaders across industries and geographies, helping them navigate complexity, uncertainty, and change. This curiosity led me into executive education, where the impact of learning is immediate and deeply human. Executive education is more than just learning new skills, it is about personal and organizational transformation. Being nominated to lead the AI agenda at Aalto EE felt like a natural next step.
This role allows me to combine my background in business transformation with a very practical mission, using AI to redefine operations and learning. Can you explain how AI is disrupting your industry? AI is disrupting executive education on multiple levels at once. First, it is changing what leaders need to learn. Strategic thinking, leadership, and innovation are still essential, but now they must be paired with AI literacy, data-informed decision-making, and ethical judgment around technology. Second, AI is transforming how learning is designed and delivered.
We are moving away from one-size-fits-all programs toward more personalized, adaptive, and context-aware learning experiences. AI enables us to tailor content and experiences to individuals and organizations in ways that were not possible before. Finally, AI is reshaping the expectations of learners themselves. They now expect learning to be deeper, more relevant, and available when needed.
All this raises the bar for executive education providers to continuously innovate. Which specific AI technology has had the most significant impact on your industry? Large language models and generative AI have had the most visible impact on the education industry. They help both the learner and educator to work with vast amounts of unstructured information, such as synthesizing insights and accelerating content creation. When used right, generative AI tools can enhance learning with reflection, simulation, and immersive experiences, making learning more fun and impactful. Using generative AI also has its downsides.
