Since 2013, James Jin has transformed General Mortgage Capital Corporation (GMCC) from a regional lender into a level 7, national Independent Mortgage Bank.
Under his leadership, GMCC is a direct seller to all agencies and GMCC investors, funding loan amounts to $10,000,000 and controlling the lending process from application through loan closing. Today, the company boasts over 670 loan officers across 37 branches in 49 states, originating billions in Prime Jumbo, Agency, and Non-QM loans — all while maintaining responsible underwriting and a commitment to sustainable homeownership.
A visionary leader, James leverages technology and AI to streamline loan approvals, increase transaction transparency, and scale origination, helping borrowers and loan officers enjoy a smoother, more seamless experience. James works tirelessly to bring to market a broad suite of loan programs, serving a wide range of borrower needs — from low-rate Prime Jumbo options to foreign national solutions, to streamlined asset-based qualifying options for high-net-worth clients, and additionally a diverse selection of DSCR programs for investors — all while keeping rates competitive and accessible. James’s true passion is people and potential.

With over 25 years in financial services, James began as a loan officer at BayCal Financial, mastering complex lending — a foundation that now shapes GMCC’s culture of driving continuous education and professional growth. He holds advanced degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, USC, and San Jose State, and spent seven years at Oracle, where he honed his passion for solution-based technology, now at the heart of GMCC’s innovation and efficiency.

Even while working as a software development manager, I was always deeply interested in finance. I was particularly fascinated by how financial leverage works in real estate investing. Real estate can be one of the most powerful paths to financial independence, but it requires smart use of financing.
